hi all.. hubby(29 yrs old) got his sperm analysis done.. its kind of confusing.. can any of you tell me what all of it means?
Days of abstinence : 4
Viscosity : viscous
ph : alkaline
sperm count : 70 M/ML
progressive motility : 50 %
sluggishly motile : 10 %
non motile : 40 %
normal morphology : 75 %
abnormal morphology : 25%
WBCs : 4-5 /HPF
RBCs : Nil /HPF
Epithelial cells : 10-20 /HPF
Well, the sample was done 4 days after the last time he ejaculated and the liquid was thick and not acidic.
The count was good (60 M/ML is average) and half were moving. (60% is average for moving though.) 75% looked like normal sperm.
There were a few white blood cells in the sample as well as some skin cells, but no red blood cells.
When I've seen lab test results, they had the normal range in a column next to the results. I'm surprised that your lab didn't do this. Judging from the results, there doesn't seem to be a 'male factor' if you are having problems getting pregnant.
