My daughters lady parts. (might be tmi for some) adult content

My almost 3 year old dd is potty trained except for a diaper at night. Her Vagina is very red and looks irritated and she seems to be itching it some times. Ive been trying to wipe her after she goes potty but sometimes she insists Im wondering if shes not wiping good enough or could it be from too many baths? (shes been getting more baths lately to make up for accidents and what not, we dont use bubble bath tho)

  • Sounds like a yeast infection. She'll need to see the doc and they can give some cream to put on.

  • Yes, could be a yeast infection. Also try and use hypoallergenic soaps/washes/wipes in case she is developing an allergy or the chemicals are too harsh for her.

  • most likely yeast from wiping the wrong way ... get some cream and make sure it stays dry

  • if she is not in serious pain just try to put some baby powder or diaper creme on there.
Go to the store & get her kiddy wipes (they are wet so cleans better) and teach her there is a right way & a wrong way to wipe.
my dd is 4yo & has always been sensitive down there. If she wipes bad 1 time she will get very red down there.

  • btw, yogurt with Lactobacillus acidophilus in it can help with yeast infections.

  • No age is safe from vaginal infections. Dr can check her out to see if it's yeast.

  • Too much soap can lead to infection. Keep the area dry. Cut down on the soap, when you bathe her maybe put baking soda in the tub. Remember with babies one of the best things for a rash (yeast or otherwise) is to let their bottoms air out. When inside at home let her wear a play dress, or an adult t-shirt and be bare underneath. You'll need to watch out for need to potty signs but it will help her get over it more quickly.
