What is your ailment if you get disbaility for back problems?

I have seen people receiving benefits for degenerative disc disease etc, which I have but I do not collect any free money.

So am I screwing myself by not accepting free help?

  • Wow....It's not "free money". Degenerative disc disease is a very painful disease. My dad has COPD and is on 6L of O2 24 hours a day and can't work, do you think he's collecting "free money" by being on SSD? He drove a truck for 35 years.

  • Your screwing yourself ONLY if your not able to work or earn money due to your illness. Id imagine you can make more $$ working a job than collecting disability.

  • I know it's painful! I have it. I had an MRI and saw a neurosurgeon last December. It hurts like heck to sit for more than 10 minutes! So working is very painful. If I can get free money and not be in pain I want it.

  • I did. I apologize. But really, if you need it, you should apply.
