Is there anyone that STILL thinks Obama's #1 priority is creating jobs?!

Obama is definitely keeping true to his re-election motto "WTF" (and it's NOT Winning The Future!). With HIS recess appointments last year of two radically PRO-UNION members to the National Labor Relations Board (who would NOT have made it past Senate confirmations on their own accord), we now have a case of a large PRIVATE manufacturing company being forced by the federal government to move operations from one state to another just to protect a union!

Boeing's operations in Washington state have previously been shut down by strikes.  They have started building a new plane in Washington and sales are going well. They looked at adding manufacturing capacity in Washington, but were enticed by an offer from South Carolina (a Right to Work state) to move those additional operations there. Boeing, smartly, realized that by having a factory in South Carolina, they would not be completely shut down even if the union in Washington goes on strike.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/21/business/21boeing.html

"In what may be the strongest signal yet of the new pro-labor orientation of the National Labor Relations Board under President Obama, the agency filed a complaint Wednesday seeking to force Boeing to bring an airplane production line back to its unionized facilities in Washington State instead of moving the work to a nonunion plant in South Carolina."

It is highly unusual for the federal government to seek to reverse a corporate decision as important as the location of plant.

But ever since a Democratic majority took control of the five-member board after Mr. Obama’s election, the board has signaled that it would seek to adopt a more liberal, pro-union tilt after years of pro-employer decisions under President Bush."

How is this even legal?! Don't PRIVATE businesses have the choice to set up shop in whatever state they feel is the best environment for their business?!  If the NLRB wins this case, where does it end?!

I've heard of large and small businesses leaving states when taxes went up and laws were enacted that hurt their operations and bottom lines--why is Boeing any different?!  And I should note, no existing jobs in Washington were compromised by the South Carolina expansion. In fact Boeing has even added jobs in Washington since this South Carolina operation was announced.  Boeing was just ensuring that they could KEEP WORKING in the event of a work stoppage in Washington!  What's wrong with that?!

With multiple failed stimulus bills (crafted to help the unions) behind him, tons of Obamacare waivers for Unions, this Boeing mess, etc. it SHOULD be crystal clear that Obama has no intention of actually changing the course of our horrendous unemployment situation or stimulating our economy, but rather, is focused on taking care of the unions who are political alies and contributors to Dem campaigns.

Why would ANYONE in their right mind re-elect someone who OPENLY supports destroying our economy?

It is obvious that to Obama, he "wins the future" when everyone is either a union worker or receives a government check or (in other words) when everyone is a Democratic voter dependent on the nanny state.

I didn't think it WAS his #1 priority.

IS Boeing a "private business" ? Didn't know that.

I can't wait for your next anti-Obama question here today Lorikeet. Maybe you will include a nice graph, some kind of 'visual aid' ?

  • what you don't seem to understand is that not only does this "job creation" take time he still has so many other loose ends to clean up that bush has created. People seem to think that once he was here all this would go away and b/c he's not snapping his fingers and making it happen he's horrible. Don't get me wrong i didn't vote for him. But for different reasons. Whoever preceeded bush was going to be scapegoated for not cleaning up his mess quick enough.

  • Clueless twits are those who believed he could create jobs and he can't do anything because of Bush's mess!

So sad for some of you who keep giving excuses for his bad job.

Obama is not a good President, period.

"President Barack Obama pushed job creation to the top of his agenda on Wednesday and promised not to abandon his struggling healthcare overhaul after a political setback that raised doubts about his leadership.

"Jobs must be our number one focus in 2010," he said in his annual State of the Union address..."

"People are out of work. They are hurting. They need our help. And I want a jobs bill on my desk without delay," he said.

  • Furthermore, this is just ANOTHER example of Obama supporting the UNIONS at the expense of PRIVATE SECTOR COMPANIES!!

  • But I wouldn't expect PRO-UNION people to understand that Obama wants everyone in this country either working for the government or dependent on the government. It is not a susatinable model--which is why Europe is doing everything they can to foster capitalism...because capitalism WORKS!! (pun intended!!)

  • No surprise Obama isn't interested in capitalism

  • Boeing is private? I sure would hate to see cheaper labor being the TOP or sole criteria for being awarded a job here in the US. Sadly, IMO, we are almost there. Good bye competition. Good bye quality.
