Too young for family game night?

I have always wanted to have family game night, and was thrilled about the idea once my bundles of joy arrived...I would love to start it young, but is toddler age still too young? does anyone know of some good games that will keep a 2 1/2 yr old boy interested?

  • Yes they still make hungry hippo game. Toss across is a good one. Or just make up something yourself. Make a mix of your favorite games and create something new. It doesn't matter if the rules change as you go. Just be silly together!

  • Card games, Go Fish, War or some nicer version. Board games, Chutes and Ladders or Candy Land. That's all I got. Have fun!

  • As you know toddlers have short attention spans so anything would be fun to them! Something as simple as enjoying the beautiful weather outside and blowing bubbles would probably make him smile and laugh! You could also make paper prints of pictures you have of your family and let him make his version of a scrap book. You can get colored construction paper and staple a few pages together to make a make-shift album, glue or tape, ribbon in solid or multiple colors, and any other accents you would like and let him do what he wants. (with your help of course!) He may spend quite a while doing this or he may loose interest after 10 minutes. Who knows. :)

    Have a great day!
