What are some good exercises for Sciatica pain?

My Sciatica nerve has been bothering me. My insurance doesn't cover Chiropractors. I have heard that there are some exercises that you can do to relieve the pain. I would google it myself but my computer is acting up and I can only go to websites if I type it in the address. Any info would be much appreciated.

  • Laying on your back lift your leg straight up. Lay on your side and lift leg up(Denise Austin). My mind just went blank..... But my physical therapist had me do this, we started out with five of these a day and then work our way up. I had to do this for my nerves and my bursitis.

Heat helps a lot. I went to the chiropractor a few years ago when I was in college, didnt have insurance and got a care credit. I went to the chiropractors and I was so happy with the results. I had been in pain for over 6 months and after a few sessions I felt a thousand times better. That might be an option, to pay them off little by little....

  • Lie on your back. Lift leg to your chest & hold for a count of 3 then put back down. Do three times. Lie on your back. Lift left ankle to the right knee. Push (gently) against the knee. Hold for count of 3. Do 3 times. Then lift leg to your chest and pull (left) leg to the right as far as you can without hurting yourself & hold for count of 3. Do three times. These are the ones P.T. taught me to do for it

  • Go to PT... there is NO cookie cutter approach to treat Sciatic Nerve pain... you need to be accessed and treat according to YOUR specific issues. They need to eval you and see what's causing your Sciatica exacerbation and treat your issue specifically!!
