on the u/s im measuring at 35 weeks but when they measure my belly 36-37 weeks so which am i just curious

  • Measuring the belly isn't all that accurate and many docs don't even bother doing it anymore. They can be off on the u/s too but IMO its a little more accurate than just measuring the belly.

  • The ultrasound is more accurate than the belly measuring. I've measured over with both of my pregnancies. This time when I 28 weeks I measured 35 and when I had the ultrasound done I was 28 or 29. My entire pregnancy with my son I measured over the entire time. One of the doctors told me it is because I am short (5'1") is why I measure big.

  • Late-pregnancy ultrasounds are estimates-- as is the fundal height.
    We can track changes to be alerted and aware if something stands out as extreme, but really, we should expect to be within a "couple of weeks" on either side of our gestational age.

    * What you have said in your original post looks the "same" to me because that is within normal for your gestation; you sound good.

  • The ultrasound is normally closer in accuracy compared to just measuring the belly.
