  • B/c they suck a big one.

Sorry but that the crappiest store I have ever stepped foot in.

Ours is horrid. Items are NEVER priced right, rude workers, horrible return policy, I could go on...

Sorry, soap box...our Kmart is very very bad!

  • We still have a couple where I grew up. It seems like Sears bought them out or something and then they started disappearing after that.

  • we have a Big Kmart, right across the street from a Sears..i can tell you, hands down, the Kmart is a better store. i'd compare this Sears store to a second-hand/dollar general store. no lie...unless you need some tools or appliances, you won't be shopping at this Sears.

  • Kmart purchased Sears, spent a ton of money trying to revive Sears, and lost out big time. Sears was the "bigger" brand, and they really thought they could make more money by investing heavily in the Sears brand, but lost that gamble.

  • We have two K Marts near by, and both seem to be doing ok.

The KMart by my MIL is much better than the ones around here, though.

  • They are the same company as Sears now. We had a Kmart that was around for years, changed to a Sears Essentials and now is back to being a Kmart. They did close down a bunch of stores but there are still some around.

  • Ours closed years ago and I was more than happy to see it. Kmart sucks as bad as Wal-Mart, imo.

  • I suppose it's due to the economic downfall ( These are real challenging times for retailers - good for consumers if you have the money but no so good for businesses) but I have one in my area.
