Weeding my vegetable garden is a pain, literally. This is my first garden and I love doing the work, but does anyone know how to make weeding faster and less painful? Do you have any tips or techniques you use for fast and effective weeding? Or is this just the burden before the reward? (It'll all be worth it :) )

  • lay weed cloth or news paper on top of the areas where you didn't plant anything. This will block the weeds from growing.

  • I always take either the grass clippings from the lawn mower bag or lay hay down the rows to help with the weeding. Yes, it is painful & very time consuming but the end product is well worth it. If you can do raised beds I hear that's really good on a person also.

  • Make sure you have a cushion for your knees or a small stool or something to sit on to get you on the level of the weeds. DO NOT stand on your feet and bend to pull weeds!
