In an academic preschool class, how many students would you like in a class?

  • In Wisconsin, for 4 year olds the limit is 16 for 1 teacher. But to me, as a preschool teacher, that is way too many. A good number is 10 kids to 1 teacher.

  • Mostly there are about 20 here in our local prep school, but I'd like so see smaller classes. Maybe 10 or 12.

  • Around here is about 20 with a teacher and an aide in most schools. I'm not sure what the regulation is. I would like a little less like 12-15.

  • My dd's pre k class has 18 students 3-5 yr old age range with a teacher and 2 aids. I think 18 is a good number.

  • In my dd's preschool class...we have 16 Preschoolers with a teacher and 2 aides, its fantastic! I just love it and the kids dont fall through the cracks! There is plenty of attention to go around...

  • we are military and our kids go to 1/2 day pre-kindergarten and there are 14 in each class! I think it is a good number b/c there are 2 teachers.

  • well its hard to say because if you cut the classes you would probably have to cut how many kids get educated because there are not enough schools to have smaller classes
