If your period does not come at the same time each month...

So my period has been showing up as follows since I've stopped breastfeeding:

November 17
December Not at all
Jan 15
February Not at all
March 17
April 24

Can I still calculate ovulation with such an irregular period? Do I try to base next months fertile days based on when I get my period this month, or based on when I usually get it?

  • Yes, you can still track your ovulation. You will need to chart it. Get on and start doing that. You take your temp each day (at the same time, BEFORE you get out of bed) and put it on a chart and the site will tell you how to track it by your body temp. It will also teach you how to tell by your cervical mucus.

  • I don't think you still may need to consult a doctor.
