Why do my fingernails hurt?

I took off my nailpolish and trimmed my nails. My fingernails hurt! I never had this happen before.

  • The nail bed and the skin of your fingertips is among the most sensitive areas anywhere on your body, maybe besides the genetals, nipples and lips (sorry tmi). But that skin is very easily irritated, so the polish remover could be causing the discomfort or just the manicure generally. Soak them in some cool water for a few minutes, then towel dry.

  • Did you trim your nails too short? Are you a nail biter? Maybe you have nailpolish remover that you are allergic too. How many nails hurt? all ten?

  • Hi LG. I didn't cut them to short. No I don't bite them... All ten hurt. I don't know if I'm allergic to remover. Hmm..good questions. :) thanks for answering.
