Does your family say grace before you eat?

We dont in our own home, But if we are at my grandmothers we do to appease her.

  • no. i don't see the point. i think a lot of people do it to put on a show for others.

How could it be considered putting on a show when there's nobody at the table but me and my husband? I say grace when I'm eating alone, too.

  • We do. We did when the children were home, and we still do now that it is just hubby and me. We have always been very thankful for the provision of our food.

  • Sometimes. I honestly forget to some of the time. More often then not, we say the blessing that was of a favorite of my uncle's: "God knows we're grateful, so eat your damn food."

  • No. And when we are with family and they do, we have taught our children to simply sit quietly while they do their thing.

  • Yes, every night. But we are not Christian; it's a gesture of respect to the plants/animals that died in order to provide our food.
