Isometric, Isotonic, and body weight exercises

does anyone have any thoughts or info on these. from what i understand body weight exercies incorporate both plus some other stuff. which is best?

  • I think its good to vary - each one works your muscles differently and therefore going to get a different benefit each time. If you do the same thing all the time your muscles get used to it and the benefit you gain from the exercises decreases. You may want to also look into plyometrcis. All these will add variety to your workouts.

  • It's best to incorporate all of them. Your body encounters them all on a day to day basis, so why limit yourself to just one? Other than something like planks, I wouldn't do a ton of isometric exercises. Focus more on isotonic (moving slowly through the motion-2 seconds to lift, 2-4 seconds to the return) and body weight.
