  • You should wait at least a month after starting the pill to have unprotected sex. That is the earliest it is effective.

  • I was told the exact same thing. My OBGYN said any contraceptive (birth control) isnt effective for the first month. Also, right after you have a baby you are more fertile than before.

  • No, while it is entirely possible that you are pregnant, you are NOT more fertile immediately after birth. Quite the contrary, especailly if you're breastfeeding. But yes, the pill takes a month to kick in.

  • If you've had sex it IS possible to be pregnant again, it happens. You should be on the pill for a full cycle before you depend on it as contraception, and even then, it's still possible to get pregnant. Are you nursing? I ask because sometimes, nursing can delay ovulation.

  • If you've had unprotected sex, bc or not, yes, you could be pregnant again already. If you think you may be you need to get in to the doctor ASAP.
