Can I take a bath now????!!

So im 8 wks I was bleeding a nurse said not to take a bath while im bleeding. Not sure why, but I'm not bleeding anymore so can I take a bath now???

  • IF you aren't bleeding and IF the water isn't very hot. You don't want to cook your baby.

  • Yes, you can.

    They myth that water travels up your vagina while you are bathing or swimming is just that, a myth. Unfortunately, it is one which has stuck with a lot of health care providers even though it has been disproved. They warn of the "risk of infection", which is not possible unless you are forcing water into your vagina- and even then, is EXTREMELY unlikely because of the fact that you are already immune to the common bacteria which are present in your home environment. That is also why homebirth is a safer option to avoid infection than a hospital, where multiple infectious diseases, bacteria, viruses are present, and you are NOT immune to.
