Painting baby girl's toenails :)

How soon after I have my baby girl can I paint her toenails? Silly question but I just think it's too cute. I don't plan on painting them too soon right after I have her but I was just curious. Thanks :)

  • Not sure if there is a "safe" or "right" age to do it but I painted my little girls toe nails for the first time when she was 2 1/2 yrs old.

  • I waited until my oldest DD stopped putting her toes in her mouth, so she wouldn't eat it. Haven't started doing my youngest DD's yet.

  • I would wait until she's at least 6 months or older for the same reason that we wait to put sunscreen on our babies -- they absorb through their skin more than we do. Nail polish is pretty heavy in the chemical department. Do they have 'natural' nail polish out there?

  • I agree with laird.  Wait until her nails have gotten harder (when they're newborn their nails are really thin) and she's not sticking them in her mouth.  If she's so young that she hasn't discovered her feet yet; I wouldn't paint them yet.
