Whats the best remedy for heat rash?

I noticed my son has little heat rash bumps on his tummy and back and he's scratching what would help

  • Are you sure it's heat rash? If he's scratching at it - it might be more of an allergic reaction to something. And I agree with butterflyblue - Benadryl.

  • corn starch powders.
    And believe it or not, the best remedy was found in AL. Mud dauber nest, ground up in a fine powder. But you might not want to go that route. lol

  • Don't put anything creamy on it - no lotions, no creams, no nothing - they'll trap heat in and can make it worse. Keep him cool & dry - use a lukewarm damp washcloth to wipe him down & keep him clean, and avoid clothes if you can - they trap in heat. Keep baths short & not too warm (but not too cool), rinse him well, and keep him hydrated. Allergy meds won't help either.
