Hot tub during pregnancy... Is it safe??

I will ask my doctor before our beach trip but I just wanted to hear from all you ladies if you got in a hut tub while pregnant. I will be 19 weeks when we are going to the beach and just want to make sure it is safe.

  • It will cause your veins to dilate, might cause lightheadedness, and you might get dizzy and fall. It isn't a good idea--every pregnancy book I've ever seen advises against it. Put your legs in if you must, but you really don't want to get in to it.

  • It is ONLY unsafe if the water's temp is higher than your body temp. It is not safe to raise your body temperature, so be sure to ask the resort to confirm water temp before you step in!

    Have a good time tubbing!
