Should divorce laws be changed in ways that will be more equitable or just for all the parties?

I'm writing a research paper and I'm looking for arguments and talking points. Any help is appreciated. General discussion is great too!!

  • How is it not equitable now?

  • Equitable =/= just in all cases.

  • Generally speaking, I think it's pretty equitable as it stands. There are instances when one spouse gets more, but I think frequently that is agreed upon by both parties, for things like the wife keeps the house because she's raising the kids, or he gets to keep the expensive new truck because he needs it for work or something like that.

I'm really not sure there's anything that could be done to make things more fair.

  • Now if you want to discuss child support or custody rulings, we could have a lot more to talk about.
