  • Divert from anything processed, in a box or a can. Buy, use and eat fresh fruits and veggies. If you buy seasonally, they will be cheaper. Try local farmers markets.

Limit meat intake, up your fish intake.

Excercise...even moderately for at least 30 minutes a day...break it up into 10 minute incriments if need be.

  • Eating clean. I've lost 60 lbs so far this way. It's all about eliminating processed foods and watching proper portion sizes. There's a group on here if you want the details!

  • The best thing you can do is make changes slowly - add more fruits and veggies, then switch out white bread/rice etc for whole grain, look for new healthy recipes for foods you love and try a new recipe once a week. The best natural diet is to eat minimally processed foods (the outer edges of the grocery store) lots of beans, legumes and limit sugar (or eliminate if you really want to be healthy). It's a gradual process and if you take your time, you'll find ways to eat that you can maintain for the rest of your life.
Exercise...find something you enjoy - tennis, swimming, running, walking, whatever floats your boat. If you enjoy it, you'll come back for more!

  • Eating Clean is wonderful. Look into one of the Eating Clean Diet books by Tosca Reno or join the cafemom Eating Clean group to get started!
