Why would I get a cold sore after I've been sick to my stomache and vomitting?

I've throwed up alot yesterday so much that I started throwing up green bile stuff and now I have a cold sore/fever blister on my lip. I've never done this before.

  • It may be a fever blister and not a cold sore. Cold sores are from a virus so it could be that you had a virus and got the sore. Try dabbing hydrogren peroxide on it with a q-tip. It will sting but it will be gone in a day or 2.

  • Cold sores are from the Herpes Simplex virus. Your immune system was lowered so that is why you got one.

  • So now you know what the virus is, what is it that triggers an outbreak?

"Well there are several factors that can spark a cold sore off. The most common are when you are tired or stressed . Other times they can be triggered are if your immune system is down from say a cold or flu (although they are not called cold sores because of this). One final thing to add to this is that once you have the herpes simplex virus, it is with you for life as at present there is no cure."
