  • The whole point of a fair tax system is that every one fairs well.

What is fair? The more you get out of the system in earnings, the more you put back in to support it through taxes.

  • It looks like we would pay about $4000 less (though my husband's extra income varies each year, so it depends on how much SE he has on top of his annual base salary). I just based it on the 2010 income for an estimate. I guess that prebate would reduce our taxes a lot under this plan. To be honest, I don't really care what tax plan they have as long as people who are able pay their fair share and they close some loopholes.

  • I would pay about 4,500 less.
Having posted that, I don't mind paying at the end of the year. I know that my money is needed to repair a road, fund our security, shore up our infrastructure, pay the salaries of civil servants, pitch in to a WIC block grant. I am proud to be able to help pay for the machinery that keeps our country growing and strong.

? Don't know how much income you have but it's not like you have to DO anything. Why is paying less taxes not worth it to you?

  • JewJew and Farmlady What makes you pay more? Just curious to the circumstances that might make someone pay more. Do you own businesses or get deductions that would go away?
