1 Bump

Really need advice.

My daughter is 8 months old, i used to breastfeed her like 3 times a day and she'd have a bottle at night and aside from food, she was good. i recently went on vacation for a week and left her with my mom. she loves her bottle and i didnt think she'd react like she did. now a week later, she won't breast feed or take her bottle! (i was pumping on vacation so there's still milk) anyways, sometimes it works to sneak a bottle while she's sleeping, but if she wakes up, she'll push it away. i tried everything, she won't accept neither! now i'm wishing i never went.

  • I would just keep trying to give her bm. If she continues to reject it you might just have to switch her to formula.

  • Maybe try a slow drip sippy cup with a soft nipple. My son did this too. something new might stimulate her.

  • Is she eating at all? If not, take her to the Dr.'s right away. That's not normal. If she just doesn't want the bottle, ask your mom if she used the bottle at all while you were away. Your baby may have discovered baby food while with your mom, and may want that now instead.

  • Please look up the NURSING STRIKE info on kellymom.com. No solids before nursing is your frist step. This is completely fixable; you just have to be more stubborn than she is.
