Anyone recieve disability? Do you know if marriage can put a stop on your check?

I have been on disability for awhile now. And there so many worries. I don't know if it will affect my daughter's insurance or her income to cause she recieve's a SSI check.

  • You can call your local EDD or SSI office and ask. Typically, when you get married, your new spouses income will effect your award. Insurance is another matter. A minor child on healthy families would still be eligible, I believe. Call and ask.

    You can also make an appt. and talk to someone in person.

  • I receive disability and my husband or his income doesn't effect it. As long as you receive disability she will receive a portion until she turns a certain age, 18 I think.
