Live Plant or Vase of Flowers -- for a family member who lost her pet?

DH and his sister are very close.
His sister doesn't have any kids, but has had Nash The Wonder Dog for over 10 years. Nash is truly part of the family. SIL & BIL had to put Nash down today. (old age, wore out). SIL is tore up bad.
DH wants me to send flowers from he and I.... should I send a vase of cut flowers or a live plant --- I think a live vine or plant that she can put in her flower bed to honor Nash The Wonder Dog and remind SIL of how much her brother loves her and how he (we) share(s) her heartbreak today.

What do you guys think??

  • I think the live plant is a great idea, also it gives her something to do and distract her a bit.
