  • No, I don't expect a gift from anyone, even those who come. And I always send a card and some cash if we don't attend.

Matter of fact, I don't even expect a gift from kids that do come to thier party.Just attending is enough.

  • No, I don't expect gifts even from those who do attend. I just like for the friends to get together and celebrate and have fun, gifts are just a bonus.

  • No I don't expect gifts from those who don't attend and I don't send a gift if we don't attend the party. If the child is one of my kids' close friends we will buy a gift for my child to give later on.

  • I don't expect gifts period. I do not send gifts if we are not attending unless it is a family member or very close family friends.

  • I don't "expect" anything related to birthday parties. If I invite someone I dont expect a all. If we can not attend for whatever reason we do not send a gift (unless its a close friend we see all the time or a family member). Recently though one of my children was invited to a party for a schoolmate that we did RSVP that she would attend, we had bought a gift but at the last minute my child became sick. I did have my husband run the gift over to the party, with regrets (since we had purchased it already & since we had said she would be there). But in, general, I don't feel like I should send a gift to party my child is not attending.

  • I don't expect gifts if they can't attend. I really don't expect them if they can attend. I do try to send gifts if we can't attend. Especially if we are close.

  • No I don't expect gifts from children who do not attend and I only buy gifts for my kid's close friend, which right now the only close friend who isn't a cousin is my 6 year old's friend from school and I've known his mom since middle school.

  • No. A gift is given only when attending a party. There might be a circumstance or two that could be a very rare exception.

  • I dont send gifts unless its close family. I don't expect gifts. As a matter of fact I have asked for no gifts for my oldest (his bday is 3 days before christmas) but no go.
