HELP!!!DH and I don't agree on names...

Ok so... My husband is nixng all the names I like because he thinks they are names I got from Twilight.... yes I am a huge fan but I liked the name Cullen yrs ago when I met a little boy at my kids daycare named Cullen. His dad really wants Annabella (idk how i feel about that) to be called bella. Again the twillight thing. I think bella is being over used so I dont feel like I want that name but geez... if we cut every name ever in a movie or a celeb name what will we use? Also since I named my last son after my deceased father my husband wants to use his parents name with this one. I see the fairness in this but I really dont like their names. I know that sounds horrible but I dont know what to do. We don't know what we are having yet but we are still trying to get the name thing going. Here are a few of what we have talked about:
Mackenzie kathleen (this incorporates ken his dad kathy my mom and sharlene his mom) i like this one but am not getting my hopes up for a girl...
Madison Faith (he hates the faith but who knows)

we havent gotten boy names yet i like cullen he likes emerson

  • My husband and I differ quite a bit on names. So, I typically submit a "middle ground" type name list first. Names I think we could both agree on. When he turns those down, I go with an all out just me name list. Names that I very well know he'll hate, but names that I sincerely do like. When he gets that name list, he typically asks to see the first name list again and finds plenty of names we can both agree on. (And in the event of complete disagreement, I remind him that I am the one that needs to be convinced one way or another about the name, since naming the child is the mother's "job" in our country. I tell him if he really dislikes a name, he has to convince me not to use it. If he loves it, he has to convince me to use it. It is on him to prove his case one way or the other, since I will be filling out the birth certificate.)

  • how about Madison Kathleen or Mackenzie Faith as a compromise for girls name? then you both a name you like.
As for boys I don't really are for the name Cullin myself but my youngest son's name is Andrew Colin. Would he agree to Colin (if you even like it)? I wanted to name our son Colin Andrew but hubs doesn't like the name Colin so we compromised by making it his middle name. Another uncommon boys name I like is Emmett.
