Best way to defrost chicken i forgot to take it out of the freezer last night?

  • under running water in the sink. It will thaw fairly quickly. :)

  • Cool water bath, changing the water every 30 minutes or so. You can also defrost in the microwave but I don't like doing that - it makes the chicken too rubbery to me.

  • a whole chicken? idk..depends on when you planned on using it.
    i usually defrost pieces/cuts in the microwave, if i'm crunched for time.

  • How long do you have?
    Defrosting in very cold water that you change out to be VERY cold over a period of a few hours is considered safe by most. The water has to remain around 40 degrees F. though.

  • RUNNING water...do NOT let it sit in water...restaurants get shut down for doing that...it has to stay running.

  • if it's just one peice thaw it in the microwave..there are settings for that :)

  • Thaw in the microwave on the defrost setting. If it is chicken breasts, they should defrost pretty quickly.
