  • well, if it's accompanied by extreme weight gain and higher blood pressure you could be getting pre-eclampsia. on the other hand, swelling is a normal pregnancy thing. you could make sure you're drinking your 8-10 cups of water/day and put your feet up whenever possible. that should help.

  • How swollen? Have you brought it up to your doc? Some swelling can be normal, even with normal blood pressure, plenty of water, and a low sodium diet, because you have a lot of extra fluids while you're pregnant, and the venous return (blood flow back to the heart) in your legs isn't great when you're pregnant. Try putting your feet up as much as you can, drink plenty of water, eliminate processed foods and other sources of sodium, and keep an eye on your blood pressure.

  • Doesn't taste good but if you boil parsley with water, let it cool down, take out parsley & drink it, it does help with the swelling & not just the ankles everywhere, and yes this is a serious answer....... : )

  • It just happens. I mean it's good you have a doctor's appt just to be sure your BP isn't spiking or anything. But otherwise you will probably have those lovely cankles hanging around until you give birth. Mine were horrible toward the end and I only had one pair of shoes I could even wear. At least sandal season is coming up, right? Try to elevate them as much as possible but other than that I couldn't do anything to help mine. But at least it does go away eventually.
