Summer activities

any ideas for summer activites for the kids this summer? They go to a private daycare and I want to help her with some ideas so that the kids do not get bored! I have a 9 yr old, a 8 yr old and a 6 year old

  • See if you local zoo or aquarium has a free day, both of ours do. Most libraries also have a summer reading program that has weekly activities for kids their age.  http://www.familyfun.com/ has a lot of great ideas too

  • Volunteering can be alot of fun and a rewarding experience. You could try a pet shelter or a retirement home. You could all do it together. I had a lot of fun doing this as a kid.

  • visit some places near your house like a zoo, library,etc. But at home have picnics, treasure hunts, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, bake cookies or muffins or even cupcakes, camp if can in the backyard, summer camp, coloring contests, to keep my girls summer is the perfect time to clean out closets and toys.

  • also can try family fun mag. or website for crafts and ideas. Have a craft box like stickers, markers, playdah, scrapbooking items, make models if boys, american girl crafts for girls, form crafts, paint cermics, can find other ideas at michaels or even joann fabics.

  • Water day. Everyone brings a bsthing suit and towel. Set up sprinklers, water balloons, water guns, whatever!
