Husband used to do so much more and now wont really do those things....

he used to do cool things like trials bike stuff and love it... we went and got him a bike and when i ask him why he doesnt do it he says the bike is to small... he wanted that bike so much... i told him i didnt want to get a more expencive bike if it was just going to hang up in the garage and never get ridden and he says it will get used but i dont believe him because this is not hte first thing we ahve gotten that eh no longer uses ...what do i do ? Its almost like he blames me for not being able to do those things but when i tell him to go do it he doesnt want to ...grrrr

  • why aren't you able to do it with him? So he won't go do things on his own but then you feel he resents you like he can't do anything?? sorry, just trying to understand

  • Bikes was like his thing....that he likes to do with other male friends.... like tricks and stuff... i cant do that stuff .... more like he resents his lifestyle not being carefree ....or he says that he is not in shape for it anymore but when i try to do things to get us in better shape he doesnt want to do it either... it just seems like he comes up with a lot of excuses of why he cant do those things any more

  • Is it possible that he's depressed? That often leads to people not doing things or wanting to do things he once did.

  • I think people, their interests, their physical ability, changes. Maybe if you just started biking he might join you.
