  • I thought it was funny when my son told me he KNEW where babies came from..I braced myself for his explanations and with the most serious look on his face, he pointed to his private area and said "There." I asked hi where he meant exactly. He meant he knew babies came from a woman's private area. He just didn't know how they actually got there! I decided to leave that conversation for another day.

  • DD1 (4yrs) tells everyone that DD2 came from "mommy's girly parts yestihday" (DD2 is 7mos). DD1 doesn't know about sex yet, but she knows that adult women bleed from their "girly parts" (I really meant to teach her the proper term of vulva but somehow we ended up just saying girly parts and she's used to that by now), and that babies develop in their mothers' bellies (again, meant to teacher her about wombs but never did say the terminology). I think it helped that I conceived DD2 when I did.
