  • creams take about 4-6 wks to completely get rid of. I used clear fingernail polish ... then would remove it and put more on. this also smoothers and keeps it from spreading.

  • You can buy blue star ointment over the counter. You don't need a doctor for ringworm. Also keep it covered so the weepiness doesn't spread.

  • ask the pharmacists... there is over the counter med that you can get without seeing a dr just do not remember what it is i called.

  • also wash hands and clothes everytime child is done wearing it. so as to not reinfect. also if u give baths its better to shower. also wash bedding. its a pain is the butt....but better safe then sorry and to reininfect.

  • I use an OTC med called mercurochrome. It's cheap and easy, although it can stain. You just brush it on with the applicator and allow to dry.

    There is no reason a doctor is needed for something like ringworm.
