  • No food until 6 months. And I wouldn't even give white rice cereal at all.

You should look up Baby Led Solids. Great thing....

  • her gi doctor says to start now, since she will be 5 months on may 9th, and it will help with her reflux. She sees her ped next month, and her ped will tell me to talk to her gi doctor about it

  • Talk to the pediatrician, I would not give jar food until 6 mo, I think rice is ok at 4 mo according to our pedi. Although my mother and many mother's before laugh at me b/c I am not give our DD baby food yet at 3 mo.

  • If your doctor says rice is okay b/c of reflux, then give her some in a spoon very watered down with formula. Feed her after she has had a bottle, the cereal is just an add-on. Hold off on jarred foods.

  • I started the cereals with both of mine at 2 mo. The dr. said it was ok. My son had reflux, too and seemed to keep cereals and fruits and veg down better. I believe I started fruits with him by 3 mo. Only 1 new one every few days to see how he handled it. His weight increased better, too once he started eating solids. Good luck!!

  • just a small amount of cerial in the am. mixed with formula.and only a few "bits" of jar food stage 1 at a time for 3-5 days to make sure babies no allergic. only introduce one new thing at a time.
i started giving my middle child solids or jar food at 4-5 months.he was soo hungry i didnt know what else to do.by age of 1 he had sooo many allergies and is now allergic to dairy, cheese, eggs, nuts, tomatoes, and a few other things i wish i had waited a bit longer. with baby number 3 she just now started foods when she was 8 months old and is almost 11 months old and just now starting table foods.

  • Ok, in that case. Give brown rice cereal, and mix it with a little formula and give it only after a bottle. Start off with only a few tablespoons max.

  • My son is 5 months, I started giving him rice cereal once a day before bedtime. Starting other stuff when he's 6 months. The rice cereal is just for preparing him for other food. I usually mix 1oz of bm and a tbsp of cereal
