  • Start with ketchup & a dash of vinegar; then add molasses, chili powder, onion powder, S&P, and any heat (chipotle/jalepenos/etc). I cook mine over low heat til it gets thick & delicious.

    1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
    1 lemon, juiced
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    salt and pepper to taste

  • I use 2 c. ketchup, 2 T. A1, 2 T. Worcestershire, 2 T. brown sugar, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. garlic, 1/4 tsp each cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, 1/8th tsp each ginger and black pepper. Sometimes a dash of cayenne for a kick.

Bring to boil, reduce to low and simmer about 10 minutes. Tastes even better the next day. I use on beef or chicken. It's thick and a little sweet.

I use other BBQ sauces for other recipes, but this is our favorite!

  • 1/2 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
    1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    2 cups ketchup
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

In a medium bowl, mix together onion soup mix, sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Do not use until the last few minutes of cooking, because this sweet sauce will burn if cooked for too long or over too high heat.
