Residual cough after croup

My five year old daughter had croup last week. The fever subsided exactly a week ago, and she is almost back to normal except for a phlegmy cough. This is the first time I've had to deal with croup. Is this normal? How much longer will she have this cough?

  • My grandson has caught croupe 3 times from a daycare. Each time we had to go back to the doctor for another antibiotic for the cough. It seems it gets worse after croupe is treated. He is fine but still had that cough. Steam baths help alot. His doctor told me to try Benedryl Allergy.
