Can I wear this to a wedding?

Obviously, completely white dresses are not allowed, when we're talking about what to wear when you're a guest at a wedding. But I have a cute little white and black cocktail dress that I'd really like to wear to a friend's nuptials tomorrow.... Can I?
It's white with a black "swirls", black straps, and black tulle. (Not as tacky as it sounds, I swear! lol)
Thanks, ladies!

  • When in doubt ask the bride to be how she would feel if you wore it? If it has a lot of white on it I would find something diff. to wear. If it is broken up pretty good with black then I don't see why not. You could always get a wrap or shawl to go over your shoulders to tone it down even more. Can't give you any more of a clear oppinion for I need the visual of the dress. Good Luck

  • If it isn't all white and is tasteful why not.

  • I have a serious lack of nice clothes. Haha, It's just so cute, and it would save me from having to buy something. Sigh... why are there rules??

  • Personally? I think the no white for anyone other than the bride is nonsense. At one time you weren't supposed to wear black to a wedding, either.

    Go for it.

  • It's similar to this. Just slightly more "grown up" looking, and there is more black tulle at the hem.

  • I figure as long as it isnt an all white dress then you should be fine. Have fun at the wedding mama!
