What is wrong with my armpits!?

I have been getting these medium to large size red bumps on my armpits, that hurt really bad. I have tried changing my body wash, deodorant, different razors, I just don't know what's wrong with me. I seem to get lots or small ones when I shave. I have been told that it is razor burn, but can razor burn bumps be the size of a dime? They hurt like zits but don't get white. Someone please help!!

  • Ingrown hairs! They hurt like hell! Go to the doc and get them checked out. Then get a better razor. Always use shaving gel or cream and shave in only one direction.

  • i get them too. no idea what they are. i dont think they are ingrown hairs because i get them under my arm but lower than where i shave.(yea, they hurt like hell)

  • They can be ingrown hairs and alot of people get boils under their arms. Try using something like veet rather than razors.

  • if you have tried changing things and nothing has helped, go see your dr. it could be nothing or it could be something. nevertheless you will feel much better when you find out.

  • Ive had several removed. They could be cysts. Please go see you doctor. Also never ever use a used razor for your underarm area. Always use a new one. See if that works.

  • it could possibly be a cyst. My mom had this and the bump getting bigger and bigger and it was painful, she went to the ER and they had to drain it.
