How are Kindle books formatted and proofread?

I love my Kindle. I've had it since November of 2010. But what bothers me so much is when I come upon a formatting or proofreading error that I know for sure does not exist in the hard-copy version of the same book. Does anyone know how Kindle texts are produced? What about the proofreading/formatting process(es)? I assume they use XML files, but even so, how do these discrepancies happen?

  • IDK but that drives me crazy sometimes too. Did you try amazon's help/FAQ or contact them?
