  • I dont think its a new trend. I know a few people my age with two middle names. Usually when you want to plug in more than one family name is when it is done. Atleast thats how it seems in the cases I know of.

  • Nope, it's not a new trend. More of an older thing where many names were given to remember/commemorate ancestors and to pass the names along. My great grandmother has 4 middle names.

  • My daughter did with my granddaughter, but she had a very good reason. She had already decided on Jaycie Renee', but when she was 5 months pregnant, we lost her best friend to cancer. Her middle name was Ann, so my daughter added Ann onto the end of the baby's name, and she became Jaycie Renee'-Ann, to honor my daughter's friend, who my granddaughter, strangely enough acts quite a bit like!

  • We didn't with either of our kids but my sister did. My neice has the middle names macia after bils grandma who had recently passed and kristin bc of a dear friend of both of ours who passed. My nephew also has 2. Dean for bils dad and Alan for our dad...it was their way of compromising,

  • I think it can be cute some times... In my case I promised my mother if I had another boy I would name him after my brother, Mark Allen. Well we really liked the name Cameron so if DD had been a boy he was going to be Cameron Mark-Allen BUT we had a girl so no issue. ;0D

  • I named my son directly after his grandfather so he has two middle names. Ross Allen. and my daughter was named after my husbands favorite aunt but my MIL hates her so my DDs name is Lori-Anne Marie, aunts name was Loraine.
