How often do your kids eat?

Someone was saying their doctor says 8-10 times a day or something for kids. DS gets three meals, and a morning snack.

Curious how often your kids eat.

  • \i dont have a strict schedule, they get up, have breakfast, during the week they go to school, have a snack at 10, thne lunch then have a snack when they get home, and then dinner, sometimes a snack or desert after. During the weekends its a bit more like, breakfast, snack snack late lunch, snack dinner They eat alot, and often, and are very active, so they burn it off fast.

  • It depends how old we are talking about.
When they were younger, a snack in between meals, and before bed.
Now they are tweens, they eat bigger meals and fewer snacks

  • My older 2 eat breakfast at home, lunch at school, a snack at home after school, and supper. On the weekends it's really the same, breakfast, dinner, snack, supper.
3rd eats, 3 days a week, breakfast, snack, dinner, snack, snack at home, supper. The other 4 days a week she eats breakfast, dinner, snack, supper.
4th eats, 2 days a week, breakfast, snack, dinner, snack supper. 5 days a week, breakfast, dinner, snack, supper.
I couldn't imagine trying to fit in that many times to eat when they're in school.

  • The ones in school get breakfast in the morning (at school), lunch around 11-12 and dinner at 5pm. If they have snacks it's from their teacher (no idea if they get them, though). The one at home has 3 meals and sometimes has a snack in the morning.
Our schedule used to be breakfast at 7, snack at 9, lunch at 11, snack at 2:30, dinner at 5. But the kids kept stealing the snacks and eating them all in their room leaving food and wrappers everywhere so we stopped buying them. No more snacks. Just last week I thought I'd pick up some gogurts for them. There are 32 in a box (enough for 1 a day for 4 kids for a week). When we got home we gave one to our 5yo. The next afternoon I went to get her one and there were 12 missing. We never gave permission for any of the other kids to eat them.
There is nothing after diner at 5pm (bedtime is 8pm).
