What kind of stain remover works for you?

My kids wear a uniform at school -- white blouse for girls, blue button down shirt for boys. When they use pencils, their cuffs get grubby quickly. I've been using Oxyclean which doesn't get all the discoloration out.

Any ideas?

  • I been wondering the same thing. I have used everything and nothing works on my kids clothes. Not even bleach. My dd wears uniforms. She came home from school with something blue on her shirt and I have washed it about 10 times so far and can't get it cleaned. I have even used a half a bottle of bleach and it wont come clean. My kids wear clothes one time and they are stained like they have had that outfit for a while

  • Hahaha My DD just did a "science experiment" about what stain remover works best! We used baby food on white t-shirts for the experiment, and Oxy was one of the stain treaters we used, but Shout makes a version for set-in stains, and that worked better than any of the other products (and natural things) we tried. So even though I don't use it, my vote is for Shout for set-in stains.

  • Borax is good, but for greasy stains I use lanolin.
