I need help! I just started making my own baby food and need to know how long you cook carrots for before processing???

  • I would say until they are fork tender. When you can easily pierce or mash them with a fork.

  • If they're soft, you don't even have to process them, or mash them. You can cut into small pieces and let baby self feed.

  • Krysta- she is 6 months old...do you think she is ready for that? I think she would prob choke. She isnt crawling yet, or sitting up

  • If it's soft and bite size, she won't choke. A BIG sign of readiness for solids is the ability to use pincer grasp, to self feed. Also, sitting up unassisted is one of the signs of readiness, so if she's not sitting unsupported, I would say that she's not ready.
