Points for Obama - what do you think?

I did not vote for him. But, i just have to say that it took him 2 1/2 years to do what Bush never could do in his 8 years as president. Kudos for Obama....

He was behind this operation the whole time.

  • Yes, he does, he did what Bush couldn't! but of course the Obama haters will find something else to gripe about.

  • Obama? No. This was a CIA operation involving Navy SEALs.

  • I 100% disagree with you. Obama had very little to do. Our troops are the ones that deserve the praise.

  • He could be the new TuPac. Everyone says he's dead but the tapes and pictures keep appearing!

But no, in all honesty, I do think he's dead but I don't think he was just killed. With all the bad crap Obama has done during his time as president he needed something to pep him up a little bit towards the end of his term, and he used this.

  • Nope I dont give Obama credit for it. Our troops did this, not him. He could have intel all day and night but in the end it was our troops who got the bastard.

  • See, I think Raz has a point there - if we allow ourselves to raise Obama to heights above what he has proven are his abilities politically then we falsely and impotently are allowing ourselves to be led by the nose. We have to keep this in perspective, our troops, our military did this - Not Obama. He said himself, that he was told that OBL might be hiding in this compound, and he basically said, "well if he is, then we'll go get him" -- what else could he have said? Can you imagine the backlash if we had found out that our military found OBL and BO didn't give the go-ahead? Please.

  • From HuffPost on AOL news:

Both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush had targeted bin Laden during their presidencies, and both had failed to either capture him or kill him. The failure to snare bin Laden weighed most heavily, perhaps, on the Bush Administration, which occupied the White House during the 9/11 attacks, and the al Qaeda leader’s killing falls exactly eight years to the day when Bush famously declared “Mission Accomplished” in Iraq.

Does anyone else think the timing is a little questionable?  Is this Obama's slap in the face to Bush???

Answer by Anonymous at 7:12 AM on May. 2, 2011

  • He gets no more credit for sitting in his cushy office giving orders then Bush would get, then any generals get. Our men and women living and dying in the grit and the mire, giving everything they have everyday get the credit! If he wants credit he should pick up a rifle and walk a patrol! This is not a victory for Obama, Bush or anyone person. This is OUR victory. American tenacity and American will gets credit here. It shows the world that no matter how hard some of the American citizenry complain about how pointless or senseless it all is if you hurt us we will find you no matter how long it takes!

  • obama does not deserve any credit. troops have been watching bin laden for a long time...longer than obama can be given credit for.

Answer by shay1130 at 8:46 AM on May. 2, 2011

  • Well, I don't see how this gets him major points. True, at least he didn't call off the search when he became President. This killing started several years ago with the aid of processes Bush approved of. The patriot act, Gitmo and finally our great military men were the tactics used to gain information were all part of what led to this.
