How do you alleviate your kids’ constipation?

  • Increase the fiber in their diets. I add flaxseed to her breakfast. Also encourage lots of water, veggies, etc.

  • Magnesium. They can take it in supplement form (many are capsules that can be opened and mixed with water or juice if they can't swallow pills). Or they can take it in the form of unsulphured black strap molasses. High in iron, potassium and magnesium. Gets things "moving" pretty quick.

  • That has never been a problem for my kids. My older son had a bit, but I increased fresh fruits and all seems good now.

  • I agree a diet change would be helpful but for a quick fix a bit of prune juice goes a long way :)

  • My son was only constipated once. My husband and I made sure from then on to communicate with eachother about how many bananas our son was eating in one day! Whoops. :/ Other than that it's never been an issue.
