  • There was an overlooked post that addressed your sticking point (that it was not just an "s" to "b" mistake, but adding the word "president"); it hit the nail on the head.

Reporting on the president's speech would usually fall into headline banner such as:
    President: Osama bin Laden Dead
    President Obama: bin Laden Killed

The colon (:) denotes that the beginning is the source, the ending is the news. So it's possibly a case of a poorly read banner, at most a case of a missed colon.

  • It's a local Fox News Station (Fox40).. You are just this petty, aren't you OP?

  • Umm, Usama actually isn't a typo though...

  • >Whats the difference between a slipof the tongue and typing it wrong on 2 different shows....and a third saying the President died....???<

There isn't a difference. Many news outlets and reporters messed up the single letter in speech and text. Just be fair Sweet. You want to rip into a Fox affiliate, at least be big enough to admit that other non-Fox outlets had similar missteps.

  • Last night they were saying Usama bin laden when the rest of the nation was saying Osama.

Ego, you better get on the FBI, too~

  • There was the tweet by CBS's Mark Knoller, who wrote, "Surprised if Hollywood types not up late putting together deals for a movie on the 'Raid on Obama.'"

  • gave 3 instances of them typing out Obama...not just a SLIP OF THE one said President Obama....not Obama Bin laden....

Yea, and I posted an article that shows MANY news outlets/reporters/journalists making this mistake... Your Attempt, OP? FAIL...

  • Poor Obama. First he had a Hussein he has an Osama problem. Maybe he should just start going by Barry Sotoro...end the confusion and all.

Our local NBC station mucked it up too. I suppose I had better check our paper..the school my boys go to uses it to teach grammar/spelling. Two different classes make "corrections" and send the papers back to the newspaper.
