  • 11 or 12... thats when I got mine, and I am blnd w/out them ( legally in my left eye) As long as they are responsible!

  • I've seen kids as young as 10 with contacts. My 11 yr old wants them and may finally be ready for them. Her eyesight is definitely bad enough. My 13 yr old prefers his glasses.

Our doctor does the nail test, if the nails are neat and clean, she gives them a gel to practice with. If they can stick their fingers in their eyes with the gel, then the child is ready.

  • My son plays hockey. Kids have to get them young because glasses get steamed up on the ice. I knew a few boys that were 8. They did fine. If my kids need them, I will consider them at 9 and above.

  • He is 8 now and would not allow it. It really depends on their responsibilty, so its hard to say at what age, depends on the kid.
