4 Bumps

I am breastfeeding, and I just smoked a ciggerete.

I do not smoke, I just got so upset (not with children) that I broke down and smoked a nasty ciggerete, I will not do it again. Is my milk to bad to give to him now, when should it clear?

  • You can nurse. And now you have proof that smoking causes more stress than not smoking!

  • your milk is fine. I smoked while i nursed my older daughter (way back in the day) & she's ok.

I would say just wash your hands well. And don't beat yourself up ... it's not the end of the world if you backslide. I quit 2 yrs ago when I got pregnant & there are still days I'd give my left tit for a drag!

  • Um just one cigarette won't do anything to the baby, I wouldn't worry. Now if you were smoking a pack a day, I would suggest formula lol

OMG this was funny! Thanks for the laugh! And go ahead and nurse. Your baby will be fine, just don't make it a habit!

  • Nurse as usual. Change your clothes and wash your hands. Truthfully, even if you were a smoker, its said that it's better for a SMOKER to breastfeed then for a SMOKER to formula feed.

Bring on the downvotes....I'm sure they're coming, but it's the truth.
