  • Since my personal situation has been very stressful lately, the books I've been reading have been along the "fun, lighthearted" lines - sort of a "mind candy" kind of thing to get a break from my reality.

So, if anyone is looking for a fun, lighthearted read, I would recommend "Millie's Fling". It's about a woman facing life, broke up with her bf, bets her roommate that she will NOT have sex for a set time (to encourage friend to not screw up and cheat on her long distance bf with a back in town old crush), and ends up meeting a woman who is going to commit suicide and talking her out of it, to find out she's a famous romance writer, who becomes her friend, and pays the broke heroine to let her use her life / relationships with friends family as the basis for her next book (secretly of course). So, while she has the bet, the author doesn't know about it, and keeps trying to set her up on dates.

    Very funny book :-)

Shades of Grey - Jasper Fforde
Divine Misfortune - A Lee Martinez
    Mercury Falls - Rob Krose

  • I love Dean Koontz. If you liked the movie "The Mist" (minus the ending of course) then you'll like his version of something similar. It's called "The Taking".
